#ChaleWote2016 Comes To A Close.

Jamestown in Accra came to a standstill when the “Spirit Robots” took over the old British-Accra town and turned It into a colourful wonderland. The 2016 Chale Wote Street Art Festival, themed ‘Spirit Robot’, made its final stop from the week long ‘experience’ on Saturday and Sunday, August 20 and 21 respectively.

I have been part of this awesomeness for the past two years and this year made it three in a row. This year’s was no exception as the festival treated people from all ages, backgrounds, and nationalities to the best of fun they could ever imagine.
Taking a walk on the streets of Jamestown, the Prof. J.E.A Mills high street to be precise towards the famous lighthouse were kids playing and having the time of their lives like there’s no tomorrow.

Graffiti and paintings by Ghanaian and foreign artists beautifully brought the whole street to life and music blasting from the speakers of pubs and stands from every corner of the street.
This year definitely saw a larger crowd compared to last year and they were charged as always. This is a testament that Chale Wote Street Art Festival has really come to stay for good.

The crowd saturated the streets amidst sing alongs, dancing, hugs, smiles, laugh out louds, food, art processions, taking pictures infront of art installations, exhibitions and paintings. I must say, if selfies were to be humans, they would have been worn out.

The celebrities were not left out as they graced the festival to perform, interact and pose for the cameras with their fans.

Positive energy, exuberance, love and oneness was all I could feel. In the midst of all the activities, you could find peace. Talent is abound in Ghana and we have so much to offer the world. Let’s keep the energy and the fire burning.
